Do We Need More Gun Laws?

 The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks. Luke 6:45

 There is NO LAW that can repair the damage in one's heart! You see.....that's why Jesus came to Earth in the form of a man, lived a sinless life, allowed himself to be hung on a cross, died, buried in a tomb and ROSE TO LIVE AGAIN on the 3rd day! This was necessary to redeem man, who in the Garden of Eden, sinned and ate from the tree....

 And the LORD God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever." Genesis 3:22

 Man has a tendency to believe that man's laws will somehow replace the true sacrifice that was made for him. Man's nature, according to God, is to be evil without the atoning sacrifice of Jesus. Try as hard as we might we will always fall short in our own attempts! Don't get me wrong...the Bible says we should obey our laws and that the governments are put in place God. Without laws, which are based on the 1st covenant, life on Earth would be crazy!

 The point is....we can enact all the laws we want and people who are outside of Christ Jesus will continue to invent new ways to be evil!

 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents;they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless.Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them. Romans 1:25-32

So what should we do?

 Let us not be afraid to take this opportunity to point out to those who ask.... that Jesus is the only answer to this problem! Evil will always be with us until Jesus returns for His own. This is TRUTH and is comforting to those who have eternal life in Him. It is time for the Church to be the Church! So reach out to those who are hurting and extend the Hope of redemption and eternal life that only comes through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
